The stock intercooler system equipped in the GTI is adequate for the daily commute. However, with the popularity of boosting, a component like the tube-and-fin heat exchanger struggles to keep up. Coupled with the combination of plastic in the construction, It's only a matter of time before you start to see boost leaks. We here at Mishimoto'started from the ground up with the MK5 and MK6 GTI/Golf R Performance Intercooler. We ditched the plastic in favor of fully cast aluminum end tanks that can handle any amount of boost you can throw at them. We also incorporated an internal air diverter into our end tanks to make use of the full core. The Mishimoto MK5 and MK6 Volkswagen GTI/Golf R Performance Intercooler core replaces the lightweight tube-and-fin construction with a more robust bar-and-plate setup. This heavy-duty construction lends itself to improved durability and heat dissipation. Our core has a 46-percent increase in core volume with a 97-percent increase in external fin surface area. Combined with our improved end tanks, the complete package improves flow by 9-percent and drops 20 F from the charged air across the core. The Mishimoto MK5 and MK6 GTI Intercooler Kit also includes 5-layer silicone couplers and a CNC-machined adapter to ensure a perfect fit with the stock pipes. This intercooler is also backed by the Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty for a worry-free installation on your Volkswagen.This Part Fits:

Excellent Sound Deadening Material!

I installed Kilmat Sound Deadening in my truck, and I’m extremely impressed with the results. The material is thick, pliable, and easy to cut to fit doors, floor panels. It sticks very well to metal surfaces and doesn’t peel, even after heating it slightly to make it more flexible. After installation, I immediately noticed a reduction in road noise and vibrations. Worth the money!!

A Must Have For Car Restorations!

I have been installing this matting in my 74 Datsun 260Z restore and very pleased with the ease of application and overall quality. My car has bedliner coating inside and this stuff sticks extremely well and is easy to trim and shape as well. I have just started installing it and using the rollers to work it in place but I can already tell a difference with just the little bit I have added....has reduced the resonance in the metal already. It's not a fast process but know it will be very rewarding once complete.

Great sound mat for the price!

This is a good product. Many people go with KILMAT because of the value to price point. I did as well. When you clean the surface (in my case it was all painted metal) this stuff sticks very well. I do recommend you use a seam roller of some type, I used Lumiteco 3 piece roller set. This will help with adhesion and mostly flatten the overlapped edges. It also helps you see where you have rolled as it leaves little grooves. The difference when we had no sound mats and after was very impressive. We haven't finished our install yet and it is quieter than when we had an interior in the van. There are thicker mats available in other brands, but this will work great for our van build, but this helps keep the weight down. It is quality material, just be careful when you are removing the backing, the edge of the foil face can cut you. I suggest you layout where you are installing the mat and cut to fit. From what I have read, you don't need to cover every inch in the vehicle, just spot install for a big difference. I chose to cover most surfaces to help keep sound out when we are sleeping in the van. We haven't finished putting the van yet, but we have driven it around and been very satisfied with this product.

Excellent sound deadening mats

Purchased these for a 2020 Lexus RX350 due to the hollow sound of the car doors when shutting. They sounded cheap. The mats are super sticky and I applied them when the doors were hot from sitting in the sun. They alubutyl sticks like crazy and the end result was perfect. Now I have solid sounding doors. Good quality product.
