This item ships fully assembled and ready to mount. We will pre-drill pilot holes in the shelf itself for you to screw directly into the wall studs (it is recommended to attach to at least one wall stud) to support the weight of coats. This provides for the most secure and sturdy hanging solution. Finish Washers, Wall Anchors and mounting screws are included for your convenience.
