Dive into the gripping narrative of 'When the Dead Come Calling', a thrilling mystery that illuminates the dark corners of human resilience. As a deadly drug infiltrates the small Scottish village of Burrowhead, DI Georgie Strachan races against time to uncover the sinister truths that lie beneath the surface. This page-turner explores themes of trust, survival, and the haunting remnants of past traumas, making it more than just a murder mystery; it’s a poignant reflection on what doesn’t break us.

Set against the backdrop of a village cloaked in silence and secrets, Sedgwick expertly weaves a tale filled with flawed characters, each steeped in suspicion and desperation. As the community grapples with its own demons, the urgency for Georgie to find answers intensifies. The chilling atmosphere and sharp prose make this novel an exceptional read for anyone captivated by psychological thrillers and contemporary Scottish literature.

Description:
I take a sip and enter the world of the dead...
As the station prepares to close down for good, DI Georgie Strachan is running out of time to find out what is really going on in Burrowhead and put a stop to it. A deadly drug appears in the small Scottish village, best consumed with the blood of a freshly slaughtered animal. But what does this have to do with the deaths and suicides? And who is responsible for supplying it?
As rituals and threats reach a frantic high, no one wants to speak. It seems the drug is ingrained in the very fabric of the village. Suspects abound as Georgie questions who she can really trust.

Not pleased- No holes predrilled in wood!
Love the look of it and should have been a good review BUT there were absolutely no holes drilled and a total of 64 screws to put in. So I have 2 slabs of solid wood and the pipes. I could have purchased and made it myself if it doesn’t even come with pre drilled holes in the wood. Have to get someone to drill all the holes for me and hope the can line them up properly before I can put together. Hope it works as returning this large and heavy of an item would be difficult. Very disappointed in what should have been a great item.

Great. Wish I could've gotten it in a darker brown color, but it serves it's purpose.
