The 000E Retro Plus, designed to balance classic Martin elements with modern considerations in pursuit of a guitar with longevity, is not your grandfather's guitar, but definitely has that distinct, vintage Martin edge and warmth to make it instantly captivating.
For fans of classic Martin builds, the 000E Retro Plus is inspired by Martin's flagship models while carving its own path. A 000-14 Fret-sized body starts out constructed from a spruce top and mahogany back and sides. This classic tonewood combination calls on generations of fine Martin craftsmanship for a warm and honest acoustic sound. To compound on this recipe, the 000E Retro Plus's solid spruce top is heat-treated through a process called torrefaction for enhanced resonance and a more lived-in sound usually reserved for older guitars. Where torrefaction was usually only found in Martin's Authentic and Modern Deluxe series, the 000E Retro Plus welcomes it to the Road Series.
This acoustic-electric goes further with its sound and playability with an "X" bracing pattern with scalloped spruce braces for greater balance and acoustic projection. From here, this Martin meets the player with easy playability to encourage long musical sessions.
