This exciting, new version of the original JCM800 calls upon both Marshall's history as musicmakers and their cultivator of amp modification culture. The JCM800 Modified introduces new, modern elements while acknowledging the rich tapestry of musical history it is responsible for.
As a head, the JCM800 Modified plays with a suite of tubes to fuel an exciting, high-gain experience. EL84 valves match with ECC83 valves to summon incredibly captivating waves of high-gain tube breakup, perfect for your rock, blues, and metal guitar persuasions. Like the '80s greats that came before it, the JCM800 Modified plays with enormous force to fill a room and spur excitement. Unlike the '80s greats, the JCM800 Modified features a lineup of new additions to make it a compatible, modern amp.
For one, the Modified's gain boost switch builds in expanded tonal flexibility that allows for fine-tuning of the high-gain tonality so natural to this amp. Pair this with a new mid-boost switch for enhancing mid-range frequencies to cut through the mix and a tight switch for cutting low frequencies and you've got a highly interactive tube amp ready for the stage. The JCM800 Modified is hand-built in Marshall's Bletchley, England factory, ensuring the name's dedication to quality.
