About this piece:
The composition focuses mainly on the 13 main characters in the center, allowing the perspective to come across as 3D. The painting was made to be busy, allowing the eye to never rest in one spot and to keep finding Easter eggs throughout. I have been a gamer for as long as I can remember and wanted to combine my love for art (especially the technical side) and gaming into one art piece.
The first computer game was invented in 1962 and has grown into a community of like-minded individuals since then. This art piece is to invoke nostalgia and bring like-minded individuals together to reminisce about the time they spent on games, the characters they fell in love with and the friends they made along the way.
About the Artist:
Art has been a part of my life since I can remember. From trying to figure out how to draw a sitting cat, to having a bigger collection of coloured pencils than any seven-year-old should have. I think my addiction to all things art stemmed from the creatives in my family. My grandmother made teddy bears from scratch, my grandfather was a talented wood worker, my mother has countless hobbies and my father taught me my most important artistic trade, tattooing. I have been tattooing for over 6 years, and I have over 11 years of experience in the family tattoo business. Being able to have my art mean something to so many people in such a personal way is truly amazing.
Painting on the other hand, is my way of relaxing and winding down after a long day. When it comes to my paintings, I tend to lean more towards oil paint. The attention you can put into your work is what pulls me in. I can spend hours rendering a painting to the point where, if I don't stop, the painting will never be finished. I love for my paintings to tell a story and to evoke some sort of feeling or emotion, and combining my love for gaming, animals, movies and anime into my pieces is what makes my art unique.
