No longer must you search the depths of the internet for one of the most favored overdrives of our time. Thanks to the industry's finest circuit nerds in Akron, OH, that drive is making quite the comeback. It's the Earthquaker Devices Limited Edition White Light Overdrive V2.
The original White Light was discontinued by EQD back in 2015, though it has continued to be one of the most popular overdrives used by so many of our favorite players all over the globe. The Limited Edition White Light Overdrive V2, limited to 2,000 units, has everything you know and love from the original version along with some updates.
This hard clipping overdrive has a dynamic response that is second to none. Its voicing is in the realm of 70's-style vintage grit, but with a more modern presence and cut-through attack, giving you the best of both worlds, old and new. The Weight control adjusts low end saturation, and can bring the drive from thickest to thinnest while covering the whole EQ spectrum in between. The Gain control ranges from light and textured to hot and heavy, quickly making it apparent that this overdrive is no one trick pony. As with the original, the Compression switch allows for easy tonal fine-tuning. The Minus (-) side keeps things open with plenty of room for high-mids, and the Plus (+) side doubles down on crunch, compression, and a flatter mid-response. New features of the V2 include top mounted jacks, silent relay-based switching with Flexi-Switch Technology, and is housed in EQD's standard size enclosure.
