Replaces / Cross-Reference Part Numbers
- Universal replacement for any round motor start capacitor with matching capacitance and voltage specifications.
- Commonly designated as a CD60 type capacitor.
Compatibility & Fitment
- Designed for single-phase AC electric motors that require a start capacitor.
- Applications include HVAC units, air compressors, well pumps, and various other electric motors.
- To ensure compatibility, the replacement capacitor's uF/MFD range must match the original part's specification.
- The voltage rating of this capacitor (220-250 VAC) must be equal to or greater than the voltage rating of the capacitor being replaced.
When to Replace
- The motor hums but does not start.
- The motor starts slowly or requires manual assistance to turn over.
- The circuit breaker trips upon motor startup.
- The original capacitor shows physical signs of failure such as bulging, cracking, or leaking fluid.
Installation Tips
- Disconnect all electrical power to the unit before performing installation.
- Safely discharge the existing capacitor by carefully shorting its terminals with a resistor or an insulated-handle screwdriver.
- Note the wiring configuration before removing the old capacitor.
- As a non-polarized AC capacitor, wires can be connected to either terminal.
