Discover the compelling insights in 'Have Bacteria Won?,' a riveting exploration of modern bacteriology by renowned expert Hugh Pennington. This insightful book dives into the paradox of our time: while humans today face a significantly lower risk of death from infections than ever before, we remain apprehensive about future threats like antibiotic resistance and epidemics. Pennington sheds light on iconic public health victories, including the eradication of smallpox, and discusses ongoing struggles like the fight against polio. He addresses the unexpected emergence of new diseases, such as those from vegetarian bats (Ebola, SARS) and mad cow disease (BSE). Whether you are a student of microbiology or simply curious about the state of global health, this book articulates a message of qualified optimism and strengthens the understanding of how we can continue to combat bacterial threats. Description:
Today, we are far less likely to die from infection than at any other time in history, but still we worry about epidemics, the menace of antibiotic resistance and modern plagues like Ebola. In this timely new book, eminent bacteriologist Hugh Pennington explores why these fears remain and why they are unfounded. He reports on outright victories (such as smallpox), battles where the enemy is on its last stand (polio), surprise attacks from vegetarian bats (Ebola, SARS) and demented cows (BSE). Qualified optimism, he argues, is the message for the future but the battles will go on forever.

It works like magic, saved me $150.
Size: 2 fl oz
I filled 1/4 tank of gas into my snowblower which I could not started, sprayed about 15 seconds of Start Your Engines, rock snowblower to mix well, let it sat for an hour. I pulled string and yet couldn't start engine. Unscrewed spark plug and spray some into cylinder, put the spark plug back and pull the string. ENGINE STARTED!!! SAVED ME AT THE LEAST $150.

Flimsy Nozzle
Size: 2 fl oz
The nozzle is so flimsy at the moment I pressed on it it popped off the can into the gas tank. I didn’t press it softly but I also didn’t press it very hard either, getting it out was a huge pain in the butt.
