Hyakinthos, eager to get the disc back, ran after it to catch it.
Hyakinthos was a mortal Spartan prince who charmed the gods with his selfless beauty. Passionately in love with Apollo, the sun god, he spent his days relaxing in the grass, listening to music and competing in friendly sports. One day they decided together to have a friendly discus throwing competition. Apollo threw first and had such power that the discus split the clouds in the sky. Hyakinthos, eager to get the disc back, ran after it to catch it. However, as he approached, the disk hit the ground and bounced back, striking Hyakinth's head and mortally wounding him. Apollo paled as he held his dying lover in his arms. He tried to save him with all kinds of herbs and even tried to give him ambrosia - the food of the Olympian gods - to heal Hyacinth's wound, but it was in vain. He could no longer heal the wound caused by fate. Apollo wept over Hyacinth's death and wished to become mortal so he could join the Spartan boy in the afterlife. But since this was impossible due to his immortality, he promised to remember him forever. Therefore, he turned Hyacinth's spilled blood into a flower - Hyacinth, so that he could be admired forever for his undying beauty. The hyacinth flower held by Apollo's hand symbolizes their last moment in each other's arms. In the upside-down view, the flower and the stem with the flourishing hand take on the impression of a Spartan helmet and spear, which shows the noble origin of the prince. At first glance, we also recognize something here that looks like raindrops, but a closer look reveals Apollo's tears. On the left side is then the disk that sits on Hyakinth's head, thus closing the circle of the story of eternal love and the memory of her, despite the pain of great loss. Dog Rope Toy

These dog rope toys are a great value, especially since several come in one pack. My dog is a black Labrador and a very aggressive chewer, so she goes through toys quickly. Each rope typically lasts her a few weeks to a month, which is impressive given how strong her bite is. She absolutely loves these and plays with them constantly.
The ropes do eventually come apart, and once the braid starts to unravel, I make sure to throw them out to prevent her from swallowing any strands. That said, these toys are very effective at keeping her busy and away from chewing household items like pillows or sofa cushions—which is a much cheaper alternative!
Overall, these are durable, affordable, and entertaining toys for strong chewers, as long as you supervise your dog during playtime.

Cane Corso Approved (Eventually Destroyed)

I bought the Forfon Tough & Strong Dog Toy for Aggressive Chewers for my Cane Corsos — and if you know Corsos, you know they don’t “chew.” They conduct demolition projects.
First impression? Solid. Thick material, strong stitching, felt durable in hand. I actually had hope. Dangerous, I know.
For about two weeks, this toy held its own. Tug sessions? Survived. Full jaw clamp tests? Passed. Backyard wrestling matches? Still standing.
Then… week three happened.
Let’s just say my dogs eventually discovered its weakness and turned it into modern art. But honestly? For aggressive chewers of this size and strength, lasting two weeks is basically a gold medal performance.
Pros:
✔ Truly tougher than most toys we’ve tried
✔ Kept my dogs entertained
✔ Withstood serious chewing pressure
Cons:
• Not indestructible (especially against Cane Corso-level jaws)
• Eventually surrendered to persistence
If you have medium to strong chewers, this will probably last a long time. If you have giant, determined jaw athletes like mine, expect a respectable lifespan — not immortality.
4 stars because nothing survives forever in this house… but this one fought bravely. 🐶💪
