It plays very smoothly but with good efficiency in the high range, very even across the horn and very balanced approach to slotting vs flexibility - it slots well but gives you enough flexibility for the rips and slides that come up in modern studio playing.
Balanced in all registers, one word kept coming to mind when we play tested this model - it absolutely sings.
Medium cup depth, #13 bore, 43mm prominence to help with Bb horn intonation around middle C and F in the staff, also helps to lift the extreme high register above high C.
For all other Kruspe-style horns, including newer 8Ds and modified Elkharts we instead recommend the Model CV.
