Bonding humanity to the formidable Siberian Brown Bear has resulted in an augmented, monstrous soldier. Little is more symbolic of the Soviet Union's bold embrace of the Rift than the Ursus. Deployed in small squads, they engage in brutal close-quarters combat, ripping their way through enemy lines and leaving carnage in their wake. Even the most advanced Rift-enhanced units are hard pressed to resist their physical and psychological challenge.

Some Ursus Squads are equipped with deadly mauls, which supplement their already considerable strength and render even the heaviest of enemy armour susceptible to their brutal attacks.
