"The framed original drawing from Robert Ripley, in 1933's Mr. Ripley was in New York City and invited my dad on stage to draw this picture with my great Uncle Tony and drew a picture of "the Horned Man of South Africa." I've had it framed 30 years ago and Ripley used charcoal to draw it. It is also signed with his famous signature. Along with his finger print on the drawing. Also any known pictures of "the Horned Man" in Ripley's Museums are no larger than 8" x 12."
Letter from Ripley Corp Buying
Dear Mr. XXXXXX---thank you for your letter......Ripley often drew images as part of speeches and demonstrations in the early 1930s (the earliest version being from 1929), hard to find one this size, and yes it was drawn with charcoal.
I look forward to hearing more about this drawing and hope that we will be able to add it to one of our museums.
