Description:
Cortec® EcoClean® VpCI®-423 is a water based gel that effectively removes rust and oxides from steel, iron, brass and copper. When used as recommended, EcoClean® VpCI®-423 will not adversely affect most paints, plastics, wood, textiles, ceramics or rubber. EcoClean® VpCI®-423 is formulated to cling on vertical and overhead surfaces for rust and oxide removal in difficult to reach spaces. It contains flash corrosion inhibitors to prevent flash rust during the rust removal process.
Packaging:
Available in 16 oz (473 ml) bottles. Also available in carton of 12 bottles. Store indoors and out of direct sunlight at 40-100ºF. Do not let the product freeze. Also available in 5 Gallon Pails as Cortec® VpCI®-423 and in 14 oz spray cans as EcoAir® VpCI®-423.
How to Use:
Remove loose or flaking rust and then apply Cortec® EcoClean® VpCI®-423 to the metal surface to be treated. Let the product stand for 10-15 minutes and rinse with Cortec® VpCI®-414 or similar alkaline cleaner to ensure a clean, rust free metal surface. Retreat rust as necessary (heavy rust may take more than one treatment).
Typical Applications:
Use for in-process rust removal for parts and metal stock. The gel consistency makes Cortec® EcoClean® VpCI®-423 ideal for rust removal in hard to reach, vertical and overhead locations. Applications include automotive, marine and manufacturing equipment.
