It has an overall light golden tone to the wood with a fine, even grain texture. It is irregularly shaped, so please flip through the photos to get a sense of the dimensions. The smaller end of the block measures 1. 5" x 1. 8". The larger end is the full 2" x 2. 3". The grain runs parallel to the long axis of the spindle and has gentle curves.

The grain runs parallel to the long axis of the spindle and has gentle curves. There are a few small knots, generally of 1/4" diameter or smaller. This wood has been fully air-dried to 10-12% moisture content. This block is rough-sawn. The bark face is loosely attached; if you wish to keep the bark, secure it with CA glue. |

GRISTLE
These are large pieces compared to their other products. So you know, these, specifically my order, has so much connective tissue, that once you're done separating the meat from the gristle, the larger portion is gristle. Flavor is great as usual though.
