So what I've learned about this gorgeous blue stone is that it is in fact glass called Saphiret. Saphiret glass was made in Gablonz, Czechoslovakia in the mid-19th century by mixing melted gold into sapphire-colored glass. It's very pretty and is a very close visual representation of a Sri Lankan Ceylon sapphire, which has a brighter blue than a regular sapphire. It's such a gorgeous contrast to the brass. These are stamped on the back and are screw back style.
