400-480 uf/MFD 165 VAC Round Motor Start Capacitor 50/60 Hz AC
Key Features
- Capacitance: 400-480 Microfarad (uF/MFD)
- Voltage Rating: 165 VAC
- Frequency: 50/60 Hz
- Operating Temperature: -40°C to 65°C (-40°F to 149°F)
- Case Dimensions: 1.78 in Diameter x 3.33 in Height
- Terminals: 1/4 in male quick-connect
- Construction: Moisture and oil-resistant case, PCB-free
- Type: Dry, non-polarized electrolytic
Replaces / Cross-Reference Part Numbers
- Replaces any round motor start capacitor with the same capacitance (400-480 uF) and voltage (165V or lower) ratings.
- Commonly replaces capacitors with model type CD60 that match these electrical specifications.
Compatibility & Fitment
- Designed for starting single-phase AC electric motors.
- Suitable for fractional horsepower motor applications.
- Commonly used in HVAC units, air conditioners, compressors, well pumps, and other motor-driven equipment.
When to Replace
- Motor hums but fails to start or starts slowly.
- Motor starter relay trips or cycles repeatedly.
- Visible signs of damage, such as a bulging or leaking capacitor case.
- Capacitance measures outside the rated 400-480 uF range when tested.
Installation Tips
- Disconnect all electrical power to the unit before performing any service.
- Safely discharge the old capacitor by shorting the terminals with a resistor or an insulated tool.
- Match the microfarad (uF/MFD) rating of the new capacitor to the original part.
- Ensure the voltage rating of the new capacitor is equal to or greater than the original. Do not use a lower voltage rating.
- This is a non-polarized AC capacitor; wires can be connected to either terminal.
