The Lesche Sampson Pro-Series 18-inch mini shovel is a T-handle digging tool built from aircraft-grade steel for relic hunters and coin shooters working farmland, cellar holes, and ghost towns. The double-serrated edge cuts through root-laced soil and compacted clay, and the 4-inch blade width balances digging speed against the portability detectorists need when covering ground on foot. Lesche backs the Sampson with a five-year warranty against breakage under normal use, a confidence signal rare among metal detecting shovels, diggers & picks.

Why Relic and Coin Hunters Reach for the Lesche Sampson

  • T-handle geometry reduces wrist strain on multi-hour hunts: the perpendicular grip distributes load across both hands when you're digging 20+ targets in a session.
  • Double-serrated edge cuts roots and compacted soil without pre-sharpening: the factory serrations bite into root mats common in old homestead sites and wooded relicking ground.
  • Aircraft-grade steel construction resists bending and rust: the heat-treated blade holds its edge through rocky soil and the smooth tubing finish sheds moisture after rain-soaked hunts.
  • 18-inch overall length packs into a vehicle or ATV rack: shorter than full-size shovels but long enough to reach 10-12 inches deep on coin and relic targets without excessive bending.
  • Five-year warranty against breakage under normal use: Lesche's coverage reflects the shovel's durability in field conditions where cheaper tools fail at weld points or blade edges.

Cutting Through Root Mats and Compacted Clay in Relic Sites

Cellar Holes and Homestead Foundations

The Sampson's serrated edge excels in cellar holes where decades of leaf litter have created dense root layers over the original occupation surface. The 4-inch blade width is narrow enough to work between foundation stones but wide enough to move soil volume when you're chasing a deep signal. The T-handle lets you apply downward pressure without the wrist torque that comes from straight-handle shovels, useful when you're cutting through compacted clay fill common in old cellar depressions. Our team runs the Sampson in wooded homestead sites where root systems from maples and oaks have infiltrated the top 12 inches, the serrations bite into roots that would deflect a smooth-edge blade.

Open Farmland and Plowed Fields

In plowed fields the Sampson's 18-inch length gives you reach without the weight penalty of a full-size shovel. The heat-treated edge holds up to repeated contact with small stones and gravel common in agricultural soil, and the aircraft-grade steel tubing resists the flex that causes cheaper shovels to develop stress cracks at the blade-to-handle junction. The double-serrated design works in both sandy loam and clay-heavy ground, the teeth engage soil on the downstroke and the blade's 4-inch width creates a plug narrow enough to refill cleanly after target recovery. Understanding how target recovery pairs with different

Some didn’t stand out as a good fragrance I liked. They weren’t a bad smell just not what I wanted.
Scent: COLOGNE COLLECTION, Size: 5 Ounce (Pack of 6)
I was reluctant about ordering fragrant soap. I had a bad experience with another popular brand that smelled horrible. This actually had a couple fragrance I liked. The musk is my favorite.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Spells great
I use this product everyday and have used an entire set. They smell great and get you clean, there is a loofa bag included where you put the soap inside and makes scrubbing convenient. Recommend if you want to feel clean and smell really good.. this is the set you can use. I know the ladies like it a lot. I get compliments all the time. One lady told me "You smell like money"... LOL.. true story.

Great scent, but leaves a film on my skin.
I was expecting bars of soap with more of a peppermint/eucalyptus fragrance and I just could not relate those fragrances to what the soap actually smells like. The Viking Revolution soap doesn't smell bad per se, and actually for me is rather fragrance neutral like you might find with the more sterile hospital and clinic type soaps. The lather factor for the Viking Revolution soap is mild to moderate in our hard water. It doesn't overdo lathering up but does lather up enough to let you know it is soap and is rather pleasing when rinsing it off where with some soaps you rinse and rinse and still need to rinse more to get the lather off your skin. I wash my hands and face many times throughout the day and night and so far the Viking Revolution soap has done a great job in leaving me feel a bit more refreshed and clean. I have noticed a bit of moisturizing of my face and hands being much softer after use, so the Viking Revolution soap does seem to come through with that feature. I handle and am around livestock and animals quite often and did notice that the soap seemed to cut through the grime pretty easily. I haven't tried the Viking Revolution as a body wash type soap. The square bars are just about a perfect fit for my hand and are easy to hold onto. I will use one bar for the shower and keep the bar in a drip rack where it has a chance to dry out after use. I do really like the presentation of the soap itself and it's a nice touch that each bar comes individually wrapped and includes a sticker and a small card. A rather attractive package if you are giving it for a gift. I'm more favorable of recommending this soap than not recommending it. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is for the fragrances not really being detectable as peppermint and eucalyptus.I do think I would buy this soap again though, fragrance or not.
