Drift Cobra Racing Car 3D Wood Model Kit

We know you love car modeling and you love the Ugears Dream Cabriolet, Roadster, and U-9 Grand Prix. Well, make room on the shelf, because a powerful new mechanical model just muscled its way into the Ugears Automotive collection. Introducing the Drift Cobra Racing Car, a beautifully styled, two-seat convertible - our twist on what may be the most revered sports car of all time: the Shelby Cobra 427. The Cobra 427, produced between 1965-67, had a 7.0 liter 450-510 horsepower engine, did 0-60 mph in just over 4 seconds, and had a top speed of 185 mph.

Carroll Shelby, a former race car driver, and automotive designer was hired by the Ford Motor Co. to develop a high-performance racer able to compete with the dominant Italian race team of Ferrari. The Americans' four consecutive victories at the prestigious Le Mans 24-hour race between 1966-69, in Ford GT40s, is the stuff of legend. More recently, it was the subject of the Oscar-winning 2019 film, "Ford v Ferrari," starring Matt Damon as Shelby and Christian Bale as Ken Miles, the ace driver for the 1966 Ford team. The success of the cars coming out of Shelby's surfside Venice, California shop was the crest of a wave of American high-performance supercars or muscle cars, characterized by powerful V8 motors placed into relatively lightweight, mass-produced, rear-wheel-drive chassis. The Shelby Cobra stands out as an American icon, perhaps the greatest muscle car and most "posterized" car in history.

Designed for drag racing but street legal, muscle cars offer incredible automotive power at a relatively affordable price point. The scarcity and unbelievable auction prices today of some of these classic street beasts are due in no small part to the fact that they were often more cars than their owners could handle, resulting in frequent crashes. Muscle cars have squared off in many an illegal street race, sometimes with ownership papers on the line (another way to lose your muscle car!). In that spirit, why not convene a gathering of model-building friends, show off your newly-built Ugears Drift Cobra Racing Cars, put your car modeling prowess to the test, and race for pinks! But remember: the first rule of Ugears race club is: you do not talk about Ugears race club. The second rule of the Ugears race club is: you do not talk about Ugears race club!

Driven by a powerful spring motor, the Ugears Drift Cobra racing car has the fastest team of horses under the hood of any mechanical wooden model we know. The model is wound by means of a ratchet knob under the chassis. Before winding your 3-D wooden Drift Cobra model racing car, move the air filter that protrudes from the hood toward the windshield, and flip the switch in front of the passenger-side seat into the Lock position (parallel to the door). Now twist the ratchet underneath the car's body. After 6 to 6.5 turns of the knob the spring is fully loaded, and — vroom! vroom! — your racer is ready to roar! Set the gear shift lever, located between the driver and passenger seats, to the desired position (Reverse, Neutral, Drive). To start the model, set it down on a flat surface, slide the air filter forward, and watch your Cobra lay rubber in a spin-out (start with the wheels turned to one side), do circles, or speed down the track in a straight line.

We think this 3D puzzle / DIY model is a beaut, with its fat tires, bulging curves (thanks to pieces that are precision laser-cut into fine 1mm plywood), a big open mouth upfront, and open-air convertible design. This wooden car's moving parts include turning front wheels, doors that open, and a hood and trunk that can be raised. Instead of a rubber band motor we've used a powerful spring mechanism to provide the "muscle" in this racer and extend the model's usable life. The ratchet mechanism means you don't have to hold the knob the entire time you're winding the model—potential energy is stored with each twist, without slippage, until the strong internal spring is fully loaded.

To put the model in "drift mode," turn the front wheels fully to one side or the other, set it down on a smooth surface such as tile, and watch as the model peels out in a sideways skid (ideally, your model should make a half to a full revolution before continuing forward, depending on the driving surface and turn angle of the wheels). When the wheels are set in their straight position, the model covers a lot of ground—8 meters or more! Set the wheels in a gentler turn, or put the racer down on a less slippery surface, and watch your Drift Cobra complete two or three full circles.

The DIY model kit for the Drift Cobra Racing Car includes 370 parts, with an estimated assembly time of nine hours, and is rated Advanced level. Why not take a page out of Carroll Shelby's book and experience the pride and satisfaction of building a beautiful, functional automotive machine with your own hands. Everything you need for this challenging but doable DIY wooden puzzle project comes right in the box: high-quality plywood boards with precision laser-cut pieces that you snap out then snap together without the need of glue or special tools, a metal spring that powers the mechanism, and of course a set of detailed, illustrated instructions in 11 languages.

Ugears model kits appeal to builders and hobbyists who love quality, clever design, and who appreciate ingenious mechanical elements with real-world analogs. The Ugears Drift Cobra Racing Car is a great DIY idea and perfect gift idea for car lovers among your circle of friends and family. Anyone who loved the film Ford v Ferrari, who loves car modeling, DIY projects, 3D puzzles, or who appreciates outstanding mechanical and aesthetic design, is going to love the Drift Cobra Racing Car.

Reliable and Affordable Timekeeping for an Active Lifestyle
Color: Black/Gray
I recently purchased the Timex Unisex Ironman Classic 30 34mm Watch, and it has exceeded my expectations in terms of functionality, durability, and style. First and foremost, the watch's design is sleek and unisex, making it suitable for a variety of wrist sizes and both casual and sporty occasions. The 34mm face strikes a perfect balance, providing clear visibility of the time without feeling bulky on the wrist. One of the standout features of this timepiece is its reliability. The Ironman Classic 30 lives up to its name with a water resistance of up to 100 meters, making it suitable for swimming and other water-based activities. The durable resin strap and casing can withstand the wear and tear of an active lifestyle, ensuring longevity. The watch's functionality is where it truly shines. The digital display is easy to read, and the Indiglo backlight is a game-changer in low-light conditions. The 30-lap memory is a handy feature for tracking workouts or laps in the pool, while the countdown timer and alarm add practicality for daily use. Setting and adjusting the time and date are straightforward, thanks to the user-friendly interface. The watch also offers a dual time zone feature, making it a great companion for travelers. Battery life is impressive, providing long-lasting performance without the need for frequent replacements. This is a crucial aspect for those who rely on their timepiece during outdoor adventures or extended periods away from a power source. In terms of value for money, the Timex Ironman Classic 30 delivers outstanding features at an affordable price point. Whether you're an athlete, fitness enthusiast, or someone who simply appreciates a reliable timepiece, this watch is a solid investment. In conclusion, the Timex Unisex Ironman Classic 30 34mm Watch combines style, durability, and functionality seamlessly. It has become my go-to watch for both daily wear and active pursuits. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a reliable and affordable timekeeping companion.

The Best for Athletics
Color: Black/Gray
This is a sleek, light wristwatch that will not weigh you down with its bulk. Forget the gigantic profile of a "survivalist" wristwatch. This unisex model is svelte and slim, not adding much to the wake you generate while swimming, or the swing of your arms while running, or the wind as it passes around your wrists and hands while you are speeding by on your racing bike. This is only 34mm across, by 35mm tall, by 11.5mm thick. The wristband is 13mm at its median working width. Timex styling cannot be beat, and neither is the resin-rubber-like material. I don't know about you, but the price is something I take a good look at. I want a watch that is reasonably priced and high-quality. I don't want to spend $200 to $1000 on a watch and worrying about being careful with it. If it gets smashed, it's only $30 to $50, not a big loss, and the quality is way better than what they were making in the 1980's. These watches are made for athletics and the real world.

Great watch, flimsy band
Color: Gray/Lilac
I bought this watch to replace a similar model because the band broke. I see this is a recurrent problem in many other reviews. However, I liked the watch enough to buy it again anyway. I found the new model easy to set, being fairly intuitive. So far it keeps perfect time. I use this watch mainly as a travel watch, and loved the dual time zone function. I am pleased that the newer model now has the ability to set 3 times zones instead of 2, which is an added bonus. The only con I see at this point is the flimsy strap. Unfortunately, the strap on this model is even thinner than on the previous one, and I wonder how long it will last. Also I wonder about the battery length. I think these watches may have been sitting around a long time. The setting showed 2012. I am afraid much of the battery life of the original battery may have already been used up and the battery may need replacing early. Only time will tell. The watch fits my small wrist fine and it is a little more attractive than the old model. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 only because of the band problem.

Fine for a man (with skinny wrists)
Color: Black/Gray, Color: Black/Gray
I have an older mens ironman which has gotten a little beat up and needs replacing. The band is much longer than I need. The metal clasp sits off-center on the underside of my wrist, closer to the part of my wrist which curves around to the front. The too-long strap sometimes flops around and catches on things. I couldn't find a smaller-band mens version, so I tried this "womens" watch (picking the most manly-looking one, of course). I like it better. The band fits my wrist much better, with the metal band in the middle and no flop. I also like that the watch is lighter and the face and band are smaller and less bulky, so it is less noticeable when I'm wearing it (cycling weight weenies will appreciate this). The face is still large enough to be easily legible and contains all of the same great features as my mens ironman watch, plus the newer versions now have an hourly chime, nice! Other info: my wrist is ~17.5cm or ~7.0" around. On this watch, I use the 6th out of 9 slots on the band. On my mens ironman, I use the 3rd out of 9 slots. Weight: this one = 28g, mens = 39g. Pics show comparison of my prior mens ironman with this new "womens" ironman. Photo order is confusing (couldn't figure out how to change that). They are: (1) side-by-side, mens on left, (2) mens band (wider and clasp is off-center on my wrist, end of band hangs over the edge of my wrist -- too long for me -- catches on things), (3) womens band (less wide, clasp is more centered on my wrist and end does hang over edge of my wrist), (3) womens watch (smaller, and looks new), and (5) mens watch, looking a little beat up.
