The highly popular works have a contemporary, urban edge, but as an artist, Dan is hugely influenced by the Renaissance and it’s the fusion of the two different styles that make the pieces so special.
Created for the artist “Chaos & Order” show, in the elegantly portrayed on glass, hand signed bold limited editions, Dan Lane revisits some of his beloved themes from his earlier work. The artist fuses his classical baroque sculpture style and the drama they convey with his own style and its iconic elements. The dark and thoughtful artworks are full of contrasting details, incorporating elements in a balanced way, from incredibly detailed and gothic skulls to Roman and Greek mythology references to lightness and colour in flowers and hummingbirds.
Constantly constructing concepts as physical creations, Lane’s development and experimentation methods coupled with his ability to blend thematic elements, results in work that is simultaneously stylistically distinct and ever evolving.
