COURSE OVERVIEW:

Welcome to the Scrum Fundamentals course. This program will equip you with the foundational knowledge, agile mindset, collaborative structures, estimation techniques, and product-planning strategies required to apply Scrum effectively in modern project environments. You will explore the Scrum framework, how Scrum achieves high efficiency, how it compares to traditional Waterfall methods, and how teams use Scrum roles, events, artifacts, and principles to deliver value iteratively. This course also examines backlog creation, estimation, multi-team coordination, portfolio management, envisioning strategies, product roadmapping, and techniques to ensure realistic planning and confidence in delivery.

This course begins by examining the Scrum framework and why it is widely recognised as one of the most efficient systems for managing complex work. You will explore the limitations of the Waterfall Method, the three pillars of the Scrum framework—transparency, inspection, and adaptation—and how Scrum works in practice. This section explains what Scrum teams do daily, what makes Scrum great, what to expect from a Scrum project, and whether Scrum can work in all environments. You will also be introduced to the Cynefin framework to understand when Scrum is most appropriate based on problem complexity.

The next learning area focuses on Scrum roles and responsibilities. You will explore the role of the Product Owner and their responsibilities in maximising value, managing the product backlog, and shaping product direction. This section covers the responsibilities of the ScrumMaster in facilitating the framework, removing impediments, and supporting team effectiveness. You will also examine the development team’s responsibilities in delivering increments, self-organising, and collaborating to meet the sprint goal. This section outlines the activities and artifacts required to create a product or complete a project using Scrum.

A further learning area examines backlog creation, agile principles, and work estimation. You will explore how to create backlog items or user stories, the principles of agile, and the categories of agile principles that guide behaviour and decision-making. This section examines what belongs in a product backlog, the traits of efficient backlogs, and how to groom or refine the backlog to maintain clarity and readiness. You will also explore when a backlog is considered ready for development, how to estimate work, the definition of velocity, and what teams need to measure velocity accurately. This section also covers the planning poker technique, its rules, how to calculate a velocity range, and factors that influence velocity—including when and how velocity is misused.

Another learning area focuses on scaling Scrum and managing multiple workstreams. You will explore how to produce a feature team, the roles of component team members, and how to make multiple Scrum teams work together effectively. This section also examines how to cater to multiple products, what portfolio management is in an agile context, how to create outflow strategies, how to manage in-process items or products, and the decision-making criteria for determining which products should be produced.

The next learning area examines envisioning, high-level planning, and product strategy. You will explore the goal, timing, and process of envisioning, who should participate, and the inputs required when envisioning or re-envisioning products. This section explains how to make a high-level backlog, how to build a product roadmap, and how to ensure envisioning is economically sensible. You will explore how to aim for a realistic confidence threshold, how to set the bar at a helpful level, and how to ensure vision and planning support agile delivery without constraining adaptability.

The final learning area highlights how Scrum integrates values, principles, iterative delivery, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement to deliver meaningful business value. You will explore how disciplined backlog management, effective team collaboration, empirical process control, and strategic product planning create the conditions for reliable and high-quality outcomes in complex environments.

By the end of this course you will be able to understand the Scrum framework, apply agile principles, create and manage product backlogs, estimate and measure velocity, coordinate multiple teams, support product portfolio decisions, conduct effective envisioning, build product roadmaps, and use Scrum techniques to deliver value predictably and sustainably.

delightful read
Format: Kindle
What a delightful read. The characters are awesome, the plot was so good, I loved it. I was intrigued and it kept me wanting more. Told in multiple pov, the book sucks you in and doesn’t let go. I cannot wait to read the next book.

not bad
Format: Kindle
I loved the plot of this book. The characters just didn’t have a lot of depth. The connections and “love” just weren’t communicated very well in the writing. The author didn’t write the sweet psycho trope very well at all either. Lachlan was just a mess of a character.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.
