The Redrock Micro Deluxe Accessory Kit for the GoPro Cobalt Cage is a set of brackets and screws that enables GoPro's HERO camera to be attached into Redrock's Cobalt Cage without using the GoPro underwater housing. The GoPro housing is waterproof and may cause fog and soft images. The Accessory Kit, by eliminating the need for the housing, allows a Redrock Blast Shield for the Cobalt Cage to prevent fog. (The Blast Shield isn't part of the Cobalt Cage but is rather an optional accessory that's primarily meant to make the Cobalt Cage debris-proof.) The Accessory Kit ultimately also serves to reduce the total weight of the cage and camera, as the Kit's brackets and screws weigh less than the GoPro housing.
Both GoPro and GoPro2 are compatible by way of the Kit. Top and bottom pressure mounts, a rear threaded stopper, and a guiding front frame function together to hold the camera in place and to ensure that it's pointed straight at all times.
The Kit, by bypassing the GoPro housing, additionally provides the benefit of leaving the camera's media card slot and input/output connections conveniently available for access. The record button also remains accessible and so from both the back and top of the cage. The On/Off button also remains accessible, but only if the Blast Shield is not attached.
