Description: The TM1-HDG4 kit from ACT features their popular Heavy Duty pressure plate, designed to meet the demands of high-performance driving. ACT Heavy Duty pressure plates utilize an exclusive diaphragm design to enhance clamp load, minimize deflection, and maximize clutch lifespan. Each diaphragm undergoes a rigorous four-stage heat-treating process for unparalleled performance. Precision cover stampings ensure rigidity and consistency. Paired with ACT's 4-pad spring-centered race disc, featuring a spring-center construction to properly dampen torsional vibrations and resist failure under harsh conditions, this kit delivers optimal performance. ACT spring retainers with wraparound spring windows and thicker retainer stampings provide added spring support, reduce stress concentrations, and enhance strength and reliability. While engagement with the 4-pad spring-centered race disc may be harsher, it allows for faster shifting, making it suitable for smaller disc sizes in smaller engines.

  • Feel: Light to moderate pedal effort, aggressive engagement, OE to mild gear rattle
  • Life: Moderate friction life, extended by ACT's exclusive diaphragm design
  • Quality: Carefully engineered, precisely assembled, accurately balanced, uses select ceramic friction materials for high heat tolerance and maximum performance
  • Recommended Use: Recommended for high horsepower street or race use
  • ACT Difference: 100% clamp load tested and dynamically computer balanced for smooth high RPM reliability

Comic Excellence
Format: Paperback
An ALA Best Book for Young Adults, this graphic novel is one of a growing number of high quality comics appropriate for both young adult as well as adult audiences. I particularly like the way the book blends the western and science fiction themes. Daisy Kutter is a fascinating character with more depth than many graphic novels. I look forward to other books in this series.

The Hipster Spies With His Mystic Eye Something That Begins With--The Old West through a fractured lens
Format: Paperback
Set in a strange, Futurist version of the Wild West, female ex-bandit Daisy Kutter is tricked into one last train robbery. But all is not as it seems. It has wry humor, an appealing lead character, a real feel for the West, & fun art. I'll bet my eyeteeth the cartoonist has a shelf full of Lamour Westerns at home. This belongs in an odd little sub-genre called the Weird West, claimed equally by Westerns, Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror, all set in the latter half of America's 19th Century, & west of the Mississippi. I wanna see more of Miss Daisy Kutter. The Hipster gives it a big Thumbs Up!

Good story, strong female lead.
Format: Paperback
Always good to see a powerful story whose protagonist is strong but still human, with dimension and depth... and a woman. Not enough of that in our society, but at least it's here.
