Compatibility & Fitment
- Used in single-phase motor applications including HVAC compressors, condenser fan motors, furnace blowers, and heat pumps.
- Physical dimensions are approximately 2.0 inches in diameter and 4.0 inches in height. Verify space in your unit before ordering as dimensions may vary slightly.
- This is a single-value capacitor and is not a direct replacement for dual-run capacitors (e.g., 40/5 MFD) that have three separate terminal posts.
When to Replace
- Motor hums but does not start or has difficulty starting.
- Fan or blower requires a manual push to begin spinning.
- Visible signs of damage on the existing capacitor, such as a swollen or bulging top, or fluid leakage.
- Reduced performance or speed from the motor or compressor.
Installation Tips
- Disconnect all electrical power to the equipment before beginning work.
- Safely discharge the existing capacitor by carefully shorting across the terminals with an insulated screwdriver.
- Note or photograph the wire connections before removing the old capacitor.
- Connect the wires to the new capacitor in the same configuration. Polarity does not apply to AC run capacitors.
- Secure the new capacitor in place using the original mounting bracket or strap.
- Professional installation is recommended for those unfamiliar with electrical component replacement.

This is a really great book.

I am a layperson so those who read this review should consider that. I have read this book slowly, very slowly and as a layperson have found it to be so very, very enlightening. This material has such depth and there were sections that I read that caused me to put the book down and consider what I had just encountered. Life is not a simple journey especially when we pick up so much detritus on the way. For years, I knocked on so many variously colored doors - entering and finding myself wanting...not them, mind you, but myself. Reading this - pointed me to a gate that swung open to a garden area, albeit, very overgrown, untended. It is here now that I work - some of what I thought were weeds are not. Some of what I thought were flowers are not. I just want to be free and am willing to accept that responsibility. Thank you, Dr. Yalom....you sage of my generation.

Great book for growth

Deep and thoughtful book, worth the investment for any training psychotherapist or social worker. Yalom is a leader in the field and one whom I trust. I have my PhD in psychology and can't suggest this enough. .

Wow!

This text is so fascinating. I was hesitant to make this purchase based on the price alone, but it is so worth it if you want to understand Existential Psychotherapy. Yalom, as many will already know, is a titan in the field of existential psychotherapy. This is a text that is from one of the fields most well-respected experts. Its also filled with a lot of content which makes the price tag certainly worth it. You'll likely walk away feeling like you got your money's worth and much more. Highly recommend
